Dante Football Sports Academy Reinforces Commitment to Excellence Through National Coaching Summit

At Dante Football Sports Academy, excellence extends beyond developing talented players; it begins with continuously investing in the people responsible for shaping them. In line with this commitment, members of the academy’s technical team participated in The Coaches Code Seminar, a two-day coaching development programme held in Ibadan on 3rd and 4th July 2026.

The seminar, organised by the Grassroots Football Talents Developers Association of Nigeria (GFTDAN), brought together football coaches, technical directors, and youth football administrators from across South-West Nigeria for an intensive capacity-building programme designed to improve coaching standards and strengthen grassroots football development.

Representing Dante Football Sports Academy were the Sports Director, Dada Hallelujah; Technical Director, Coach Kehinde Kazeem A.; Head Coach; and Assistant Coach, Tunde Oladejo. Their participation reflects the academy’s unwavering commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and the adoption of modern coaching methods that directly benefit its players.

Throughout the two-day seminar, participants engaged in practical and classroom sessions covering essential areas of football coaching, including coaching ethics and responsibilities, player development, training methodology, session planning, progression, overload and recovery principles, coaching demonstrations, and effective session delivery.

For Dante Football Sports Academy, the experience goes beyond earning certificates. It represents another strategic step towards building a stronger technical department capable of delivering high-quality player development in line with global coaching standards.

Speaking during the summit, coaches highlighted several challenges slowing the growth of grassroots football in Nigeria, including inadequate infrastructure, limited sponsorship, poor access to standard training facilities, insufficient institutional support, and declining parental involvement.

One of the facilitators, Coach Oruma, explained that the primary objective of the conference was to empower grassroots coaches with practical knowledge and strategies for creating opportunities despite these challenges.

“We’ve noticed that there’s a lack of support, particularly in sponsorship, and we’re here to address those issues while helping coaches maximise the resources available to them,” he said.

He further noted that the initiative seeks to strengthen football academies through capacity building, enabling coaches to better develop young talents and prepare them for opportunities both within Nigeria and abroad.

For Dante Football Sports Academy, participation in programmes such as The Coaches Code Seminar forms part of a broader vision of creating an environment where players receive quality training from knowledgeable, certified, and continuously improving coaches.

As the seminar concluded on 4th July 2026, certificates were presented to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. More importantly, Dante’s technical team returned with fresh knowledge, renewed perspectives, and enhanced coaching strategies that will positively impact the academy’s training philosophy.

At Dante Football Sports Academy, learning never stops. Every investment in our coaches is ultimately an investment in our players, our football philosophy, and the future of the game.
